About
James City County offers year round sports classes, clinics, leagues and events for youth and adults. Sport classes and clinics cater to development and foundational skills and tournaments and leagues allow for competition and friendly play. Check out the complete list of year-round programs! Please contact us if you have questions or are interested in partnering to offer a camp, class or clinic. Registration closes 1 week before program start date.
Fall Sport Classes
Registration is open for winter and spring sports classes. Registration for classes closes one week in advance of class start. Register for any programs below or find more information.
Virginia Legacy Fall & Winter Break Camps
Revolving around soccer-related games, activities, trainings and competitions, this camp includes instruction on the fundamentals of soccer and is designed to meet the needs of beginner, developmental, recreational and advanced soccer players. All participants receive a Legacy Camp shirt! Registration for September camp registration closes Friday, September 11. Registration for October and December camps will begin September 29 on PerfectMind, our new registration platform.
- September 21 - 25, 1 - 4 p.m.
- October 19 - 23, 1 - 4 p.m.
- December 28 - 30, 9-3 p.m. or 9 a.m. - noon.
Athletes Global Multi-Sport Session
This program is designed to introduce young athletes to a variety of different sports such as basketball, soccer, flag football, sports performance training and much more while doing virtual schooling. Athletes will learn the fundamentals and rules for each sport through drills, skill-based games and scrimmages. Participants will get a feel for the flow of each game, and the skills and athleticism typical to that sport giving them information to decide what sport to pursue further. We also give out daily leadership development homework to help develop social, emotional and leadership skills. Session runs Tuesday/Thursday from September 15 - October 22. Must register by Friday, September 11.

Pint-Sized Soccer Series
This soccer series engages kids of all ages and helps to develop balance, movement and soccer skills as well as provide a positive sports environment. Parents are encouraged to participate in Quart’r Pint where the focus is on honing motor skills and introducing basic elements of soccer. Half Pint focuses on individual technical development and Full Pint is designed to hone those skills and introduce dynamic team play. Session runs October 29-November 19. Registration begins September 29 on PerfectMind, our new registration platform.
- Quart’r Pint (ages 3-4 with parent), 5 p.m.
- Half Pint (ages 4-5), 5:30 p.m.
- Full Pint (ages 6-8), 6:30 p.m.
Tot Shots & Jump Shots
Time to lace up the basketball shoes for this introduction to basketball. Children will focus on individual skills and learn fundamental tactics and ball-handling skills. Jump shots will introduce game play and team dynamics. Session runs October 27-November 17. Registration begins September 29 on PerfectMind, our new registration platform.
- Tot Shots: Ages 3-5, 5:45 p.m.
- Jump Shots: Ages 6-8, 6:30 p.m.
Multi-Sport Classes
Bring your child and let them try one of our sports sampler classes! These classes present an opportunity for children to be introduced to major sports including baseball, soccer, basketball and more. Each week introduces a new sport. Session runs October 27-November 17. Registration begins September 29 on PerfectMind, our new registration platform.

Jr. NBA Skills Challenge - Jan. 16
This nationwide program is a fun way to lace up the basketball shoes and test your skills against other local players! The competition consists of a one-minute timed drill and shots from multiple, pre-determined locations around the court. The top three participants in each age group are eligible to move on to the regional tournament and from there to an all-expense-paid trip to the skills challenge championships! Aging date for each participant is their age on Aug. 31, 2021, not their current age. Preregistration is highly recommended as spaces are limited. Fall Adult Coed Soccer - 2020
Registration closed.
We are currently not offering adult soccer leagues at this time. Check back in the winter for information regarding spring soccer.
