[ARCHIVED] JCCPD: Charges Filed in Sunglass Hut Shoplifting Incident

JCCPD charges have been filed

Feb 6. Update: The suspect in this shoplifting incident has been identified by Police as Travis D. Wilson, a 39-year-old man from Norfolk. Wilson has been charged with the following:

  • One count of Grand Larceny, § 18.2-95

Jan. 30 News Flash: On Jan. 29 at approximately 2:10 p.m., an unknown male entered the Sunglass Hut at 5625 Richmond Road and stole several items from the store. The suspect is a Black male, and during the commission of the crime, he wore black boots, black pants, an olive-green sweatshirt, and a blue hat. The suspect rushed into the store and began grabbing items while shouting aggressively at store employees. The suspect stole twenty-one pairs of sunglasses valued at over $8,000. The stolen items are of these brands: Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Prada, and Burberry. He fled the scene in a white four-door Kia sedan with tinted windows and a decal above the taillights. The vehicle has one black racing stripe that runs from the front to the rear of the car, positioned over the driver’s side.
