[ARCHIVED] Arrest Made in Connection with Papa John’s Robbery

JCCPD an arrest has been made

James City County Police Department (JCCPD) Detectives have successfully made an arrest in connection with the armed robbery that took place on Oct. 19 at Papa John’s, located at 5559 Olde Towne Road. During the investigation of this incident, JCCPD disseminated a bulletin featuring surveillance camera images of the suspect on Oct. 26. Dominique Cathcart, a 40-year-old Newport News resident, was taken into custody by the Hampton Police on a robbery-related offense that occurred in Hampton. Subsequently, Hampton Police shared vital information regarding the Oct. 26 bulletin with JCCPD that potentially linked Cathcart to the Oct. 19 robbery. This information prompted JCCPD to conduct a thorough interview with Cathcart at the Hampton Police Division Headquarters on Oct. 31.

Following this interview, JCCPD Detectives secured the issuance of the following warrants against Dominique Cathcart:

-  § 18.2-58 Robbery (F)

-  § 18.2-53.1 Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony (F)

-  § 18.2-47 Abduction and Kidnapping (F)

Cathcart is being held without bond at the Hampton Jail Annex. James City County Police extends gratitude to the Hampton Police Division for their assistance in bringing this suspect to justice.
